Environmental Policy
Computer Recyclers Inc. is committed to providing quality recycling and secure destruction service in such a way that we create a safe and healthy workplace for our employees and contractors, as well as reducing not only our impact on the environment, but the environmental impact of those private and corporate clients to whom we provide services. We seek to comply with all relevant provincial and federal environment legislation and we will use environmental best practices in all we do.
Computer Recyclers Inc. will :
- ensure our decisions and activities are in keeping with the commonly held core beliefs of sound environmental practice,
- promote awareness among our employees and encourage them to work in an environmentally responsible manner,
- train, educate and inform Computer Recyclers' employees on health and environmental issues which may affect their work,
- reduce company waste through re-use and recycling where applicable and by purchasing recycled, recyclable or re-furbished products and materials where these alternatives are available, economical and suitable,
- create a mind set conducive to the efficient use of materials and resources throughout our facility including water, electricity, and other resources, especially those that are non-renewable,
- avoid the use of hazardous materials and products, seek substitutions when feasible, and take all necessary steps to protect human health and the environment,
- purchase and use environmentally responsible products accordingly,
- develop and maintain appropriate emergency and spill response programmes,
- communicate our environmental commitment to clients, customers and the public and encourage them to support it,
- monitor the health, safety and environmental aspects of our operations and conduct investigations of incidents as they are deemed worthy of such,
- strive to continually improve our environmental performance and reduce the impact and damage of activities by periodical review of environmental policies.
